🇬🇧MP QUITS LABOUR PARTY, SLAMS PM STARMER'S LEADERSHIP
Rosie Duffield, MP for Canterbury, has resigned from the Labour Party, citing discontent with Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership and policies.
In her resignation letter, Duffield criticized Starmer’s acceptance of £100,000 in gifts from Labour peer Waheed Alli and his decision to retain the two-child benefit cap and cut winter fuel payments for pensioners.
She accused Starmer of tarnishing Labour with "sleaze and avarice" and expressed frustration over the party’s direction since coming to power:
“I cannot put into words how angry I and my colleagues are at your total lack of understanding about how you have made us all appear.”
