Status of @PCNGInitiative in Nigeria

The @PCNGInitiative has made significant strides in its effort to transform the energy landscape in Nigeria. Here is a breakdown of their progress:

  1. Coverage and Conversion Centers
So far, eight states have been covered, with a total of 75 conversion centers set up. These states include Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Oyo, Delta, Nasarawa, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

  2. Upcoming Expansion - Phase 2
The second phase of the initiative is planned before the end of December, and will cover more states such as Kwara, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Abia, Rivers, Niger, and others. It’s important to note that this is a work in progress, and precise engineering efforts are being employed to ensure accuracy and success.

  3. Training and Collaboration with State Governments
Before any conversion centers are established, workers in these states will undergo necessary training. Additionally, state mass transit systems, through their governors, are expected to collaborate with the Pi-CNG leadership to ensure a smooth rollout.

  4. Engagement with Road Transport Unions
For successful implementation, state road transport unions must be engaged. Only after both training (point 3) and union engagement (point 4) are completed will the initiative be officially flagged off in the respective states.

  5. Focus on Commercial Drivers
@PCNGInitiative places great emphasis on the wellbeing of commercial drivers, recognizing their pivotal role in reducing inflation by lowering transportation costs, a critical component of the national economy.
